Embedded Auto Insurer In The Car Appoints Dealer Success Manager

In The Car, LLC., an embedded digital-first platform that enables OEMs and dealerships to provide auto insurance policies directly to consumers, has appointed Samuel Catterson as its dealer success manager.

In his new role, Catterson will help dealers onboard the new technology and help them understand the benefits In The Car provides dealers and their customers.

“In The Car is a great product and my goal is to provide it to dealerships in all 50 states,” said Catterson. “Insurance is one of the pain points in the customer experience — and resolving it greatly supports the white-glove service each dealership is striving for. In The Car provides high-quality, customized insurance options to the customer in just 30–60 seconds.”

In The Car uses information already provided during the sales process and, with the help of AI and algorithms, combines that with detailed data about a customer’s motor vehicle history, driving record, household members, other cars, etc. Rather than interrupting the sales process while the customer seeks insurance, the dealer can close the deal and move on to the next customer.

Before joining In The Car, Catterson was dealer performance manager at TrueCar where he managed more than 150 dealership accounts delivering performance reviews and training to optimize operations.

He started his automotive consulting career as a senior customer success manager at DealerSocket managing accounts for the Penske Central Region and was quickly promoted to strategic growth manager supervising 90 dealerships in the Great Lakes region.

From there he became senior business process consultant for Salty Insurance where he also became a licensed insurance agent.

Catterson holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Bringham Young University.
